Ja Rule is Not a Fan of Those Fyre Festival Documentaries

“I have receipts!”

This week, a pair of documentaries, Fyre Fraud and Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, were released on Hulu and Netflix, respectively. Both features chronicled, through varying details and plot points, how co-founders, Billy McFarland and Ja Rule, defrauded ticketholders, advertisers, and investors, along with the people of the Bahamas who were offered staff positions at the festival and never paid (a GoFundMe campaign is currently underway to raise money for them.)

And though the documentaries lay much of the blame on McFarland — sentenced to six years in prison for falsifying documents and statements to investors — Ja Rule does not appear satisfied with his portrayal or the myriad responses to the documentaries. The rapper took to Twitter this morning in an attempt to clear his name:

Ja has not been charged with anything, but the Fyre Festival fiasco has led to a litany of lawsuits, in which he was named along with McFarland. It’s unclear if that’ll remain the case, but whatever comes of all this, you can be sure Ja will continue to distance himself from anything Fyre related for some time moving forward.
