The rapper’s “platinum with no features” album went platinum again.
J. Cole has something to celebrate.
The Dreamville rapper’s 204 album, Forest Hills Drive has now been certified triple platinum.
On Wednesday (May 29), Dreamville confirmed the feat with a post on Twitter. The album was released in December 2014 and went gold in 2015. In January 2016, the project went platinum, and in October 2016, the album achieved double platinum status
The album is famed for having been successful without any feature appearances. In a recent GQ interview, Cole expressed he’s grown embarrassed of the meme, saying, “I was loving it…I was like, “Word up — this is funny as hell.” But the second or third time, I was like, “All right, it’s almost embarrassing now.” Like, “All right, man, y’all gonna make me put a feature on the album just so this shit can stop.”
