Lupita Nyong'o's alter-ego Troublemaker has made her first official appearance. On Thursday, Ciara released "Melanin," a track featuring Troublemaker as well as the City Girls, Ester Dean, and La La Anthony.
Ciara spoke about the track's purpose in a press release. “This is ultimately an anthem of self-love, a journey I’ve been on since my Beauty Marks album,” she said. “It celebrates the beautiful shades of culture that comprise the inner and outer beauty of everyone. Embracing the unique nature of our skin tones threads together the tapestry of humankind.”
