The Montreal producer keeps putting his hometown on, and that's a very good thing

Don't look now, but by the time he's done with us, Kaytranada will have effectively shifted all perceptions of what Montreal is and can be.

Last year, he busted the door wide open with his debut full-length album 99.9%, but, with the exception of a few marquee placements (Gorillaz's "Strobelite," Mary J. Blige's "Telling The Truth" and a trio of tracks off GoldLink's At What Cost?) the newly-minted go-to beat constructor has kept it local with the collaborative spirit in 2017. He's helmed heaters for lil bro, Lou Phelps, and north-of-the-border lilter, Shay Lia. And this past week, he added a few more to the belt with a pair of productions for fellow MTLiens, Heartstreets and Planet Giza, respectively.

The former, "Blind," is a cutting and ice-cold slice of confident r&b set to Kaytra's minimalist blips and punchy kicks, while his Planet Giza collaboration, "Domina," offers fans a touch of that hallmark house touch, ripe and ready for the dance floor.
