The video also features UK actor/artist Blakie from Netflix's Top Boy.

Goldlink has unveiled the music video for his single “Joke Ting” featuring AriPenSmith off of his critically acclaimed album Diaspora.

Shot in Los Angeles, the video features UK actor/artist Blakie from the hit show Top Boy and Justine Skye. Throughout the clip, the mischievous group rides around the streets of LA and wreaks havoc in a barber shop and enjoy a night at the club. At the end of the video, they attempt to rob a leader of a rivaling group.

Diaspora the DMV rapper’s debut studio album which was rolled out this summer is packed with tracks that speak to his artistry: “Days Like This” featuring Khalid and “No Lie” with Wizkid. “U Say” with Tyler The Creator was another notable track, it has raked in over 18 million streams on Spotify alone. “Joke Ting” was included on Barack Obama’s “Summer Playlist 2019” alongside songs by Lizzo, Lil Nas X and BJ The Chicago Kid.

With Diaspora, Goldlink reinforced his eccentric sound. He built his bustling fanbase with his past mixtapes mainly his breakout project The God Complex (2014). This release fused R&B with go-go and also hip-hop, directly inspired by his DMV roots. And After That We Didn’t Talk arrived in 2015 and was marked by distinct tracks like “Dark Skin Women” and “Palm Trees.”

The arrival of “Crew” featuring Brent Faiyaz and Shy Glizzy from the album At What Cost (2016) would prove to be a defining moment for Goldlink. This hit single would go on to be nominated for “Best Rap/Sung Performance" for the 60th Grammy Awards in 2017.
