The reclusive will make a rare public appearance to salute a legend next week.
Back in our pre-blond(e)d lives, Rick Rubin was one of the few entrusted with Frank Ocean's mammoth double-album. And now it appears, he'll return the bid of secrecy, as Spotify announces that Ocean is set to present Def Jam co-founder and the production pioneer with a Lifetime Achievement honor at their inaugural Secret Genius Awards in Los Angeles next week.

The ceremony will be held at the Vibiana Cathedral, celebrating the contributions of slept-on performers, producers, and songwriters to some of the streaming giant's highest play counts. Others nominated for awards include, but are not limited to, Benny Blanco, Max Martin, Noah 40, Doc McKinney, Frank Dukes, Metro Boomin, Dave Sitek and Starchild. No word on whether a broadcast of any sort has been planned, but winners will be revealed at the November 1st ceremony.
