Watch Dr. Dre Make A Special Appearance During Anderson .Paak’s O2 Concert in London
The mentor, Dr. Dre, and his mentee, Anderson .Paak, performed “Still D.R.E.” and “The Next Episode” in front of a packed concert at the O2 Academy Brixton.
2018 is poised to be an extremely blessed and influential year for Oxnard, California’s own Anderson .Paak. The Malibu singer-songwriter has captivated the world’s attention, plus a certain producing-and-engineering legend in Dr. Dre. The two have been seen collaborating on .Paak’s next effort, due sometime this year, and their mutual appreciation of one another doesn’t just stop at the studio.
Last night, the good doctor made a special guest appearance during .Paak’s concert at the 02 Academy Brixton in London. The two performed “Still D.R.E.” and “The Next Episode” from the Compton kingpin’s 2001 effort. It marked Dre’s first UK performance since 2014, when he joined Eminem for his dates at Wembley Stadium. The free gig at 02 was filmed for Apple Music and Beats.
It’s not the first time Dr. Dre made a house visit for one of Anderson’s shows—he appeared during his 2016 Coachella set as well.
Dre told the crowd that he came to Brixton’s O2 Academy “to present and represent” .Paak, adding: “This man right here is destined to be a star. Trust me.” During his performance, .Paak did everything possible to prove his mentor right, sprinting through a 14-song set with the irresistible energy of man acknowledging his stars are aligned.

As mentioned earlier, Dre reportedly lent a heavy hand in producing .Paak’s next record. “It’s dope to be around legends like that and you can feel the mutual respect,” .Paak said regarding his mentor. “That’s what I always did it for, I wasn’t really thinking about money or fame, I just wanted the respect from the people I look up to musically.”
