Report: DMX No-Shows Def Jam's 35th Anniversary Party He Was Supposed to Headline

Page Six insiders say the rapper cited personal reasons for the no-show, Fabolous and Jadakiss performed in his absence.

DMX' comeback tour has apparently hit a snag, as the rapper skipped out on Def Jam's 35th-anniversary party on Thursday in Williamsburg.

Sources close to the situation told Page Six that the rapper bailed on the show due to personal reasons. Fabolous and Jadakiss performed in his absence at the last minute.

After a year-long prison stint for tax evasion, the 48-year-old rapper told GQ that he looked forward to releasing an album in the near future.

The comeback efforts started as early as January when Swizz Beatz announced on Instagram that DMX was working on music "for the people that need his truth and pain." This past March, he led a prayer at Kanye West's Sunday Service concert.
