DJ Muggs & MF DOOM Confirm A Two-Song Project Called ‘Assassination Day’

Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs confirms that he will do a special two-song project called Assassination Day with the iconic MF DOOM.

Coming straight out of Soul Assassins Records on August 3, DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill fame will release a special two-song project features MF DOOM with appearances from Freddie Gibbs (“Death Wish”) and Kool G. Rap.

Muggs teased the project last December with an Instagram photo featuring a black-and-white drawing of what appeared to be Muggs and MetalFace together. Both entities have been busy bullying the booth as the veteran producer just dropped his Frozen Angels EP with Meyhem Lauren, while DOOM recently shared the mic with Bishop Nehru on Elevators: Act I & II and collaborated with Westside Gunn on the WestsideDOOM project.

Soul Assassins — a hip-hop collective of game changers, artists and graphic designers — was formed by Muggs in 1992 and includes Dilated Peoples, Prophets of Rage, La Coka Nostra and GZA. Throw in producers such as The Alchemist and House of Pain’s DJ Lethal and you have to admit that there is legit heat attached to this album.

DOOM and Muggs project is definite on our must-hear list, so get a taste of what to expect by pressing play on the video above, and staying in tune to @Okayplayer for more from this deadly combination.
