"Every Bar I Ever Spit was the Truth" Drake Denies Claim That He Fabricated Lyrics About His Dad to Sell Records

The Memphis-based musician claims he's "always been with Drake." Drake promptly responded via Instagram stories.

Last week, Dennis Graham, the musician better known as Drake's father, made an appearance on Los Angeles radio station Power 106's Nick Cannon Mornings, where he responded to the notion that he was an absentee father throughout Drake's childhood.

Over the years, the rapper has mentioned their strained relationship on and off wax. The elder Graham claims the two have discussed these issues in the past.

"I had a conversation with Drake about that," Graham said. "I have always been with Drake. I talked to him if not every day, every other day and we really got into a deep conversation about that, 'I said Drake, why are you saying all this different stuff about me man like this is not cool'. He goes 'Dad it sells records,' and I said 'OK well cool.'"

On Tuesday, the rapper took to Instagram to reply, saying "My father will say anything to anyone that's willing to listen to him. It's sad when family gets like this but what can we really do that's the people we are stuck with...every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept."
