Everyone has been criticizing DaBaby for his homophobic rant at Rolling Loud.

It's been four days since DaBaby's homophobic rant at Rolling Loudin Miami. And the fallout is still happening. And the harshest statements have come from DaBaby’s artistic peers.

boohooMAN

On Wednesday morning, boohooMAN, an online retailer known for its collaborations with contemporary rappers like DaBaby, Quavo, and Swae Lee, ended its relationship with DaBaby. In a press release, boohooMan said that they "condemn the use of homophobic language.

Elton John

Legendary singer Elton John released a statement condemning the rapper. On Twitter, John wrote:

“We’ve been shocked to read about the HIV misinformation and homophobic statements made at a recent DaBaby show... This fuels stigma and discrimination and is the opposite of what our world needs to fight the AIDS epidemic.”

Chika

On Tuesday, rapper Chika had a scathing response to DaBaby's comments. She had a series of tweets coming after the rapper, mocking his skills as a rapper in the process.

Dua Lipa

In an Instagram story post published on Tuesday, Dua Lipa, who has collaborated with DaBaby on the "Levitating" remix, wrote that she was "horrified at DaBaby's comments" adding that she didn't recognize "this as the person I worked with."

Victoria Monét

Singer Victoria Monét offered her services if Lupa wanted to replace his verse. (Dua should accept this offer.)

Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato, who identifies as nonbinary, shared an Instagram gallery post that included a photo with the sentence "HIV is not a gay disease." In the caption, they wrote, “hot people listen to the original version of levitating."

Questlove

Questlove had some strong words for DaBaby. A couple of weeks ago, Questlove was asked who he would have on a 2021 Summer of Soul lineup. He initially put DaBaby on that list. Now, he's taken that back.

In an Instagram post, he wrote:

“Now I’m updating my list ——because it’s 2021 & fuck the bullshit. I’m especially not here for any savagery (if you’re lost: Google the idiocy of the crossed out)... I’m not trine be all performative smurf & create a social flogging or start some click bait headlines. That’s missing the point. But right is right & his actions are wrong."

ACLU

The The American Civil Liberties Union didn't say DaBaby's name, but they tweeted a message that was directed towards him.

 Parklife 2021 

According to TMZ,  Parklife 2021, a festival in Manchester, England, has taken the rapper off of its lineup.

DaBaby has not been handling this pushback well. On Tuesday night, he tried to apologize. But it was confusing. And, frankly, he only made things worse:

This all stems from DaBaby's Rolling Loud performance on Sunday. The rapper stunned fans when he went on a homophobic rant, lashing out against people with AIDs and HIV. (He also brought out Tory Lanez, in an effort to troll Megan Thee Stallion.) In his mini rant, DaBaby told fans to put their cellphones in their air, "if you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two, three weeks, then put your cell phone light up,”

He also added:

“Ladies, if your pussy smell like water, put your cell phone light up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking dick in the parking lot, put your cell phone light up. Keep it fucking real.”

DaBaby was immediately ripped for his comments. But he has gotten some support from some rap peers. T.I., who is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting over a dozen women, wrote that “If Lil Nas X can kick his shit in peace... so should dababy #equality.” (He is probably referring to his "Industry Baby" video.")

While Boosie Badazz went on his own homophobic rant defending DaBaby. Calling Lil Nas X a gay slur, Boosie said:

"Lil Nas X said he wanna perform naked on stage for charity. You don't fuck with him like you fuck with DaBaby... Be even-sided. You don't feel that's disrespectful?"

What a mess. And DaBaby keeps on making things worse. On Wednesday he released the video for "Giving What It's Supposed To Give," his latest single. The song and video features an AIDs reference. And the video ends with DaBaby responding to the controversy. At the end of the video there's a message, written in rainbow font:

“Don’t fight hate with hate... My apologies for being me the same way you want the freedom to be you.”

After releasing the video, he included a long, defiant run on sentence about the controversy:

"You ever wrote a video, you and 3 others produce it, you direct it while starring AND rapping in it, film the video for 16 HOURS straight wrap up at 4am, take a shower & jump on a jet to @rollingloud and with only 2 hours of rest give one of the BEST performances of the entire festival yet the most controversial and emotion provoking performance as well; due to things deemed “insensitive” said during your performance even though you’re an ENTERTAINER, try to apologize and explain that you meant no harm & that you were only entertaining as you are paid to do, & have no problem with anyone’s sexual preference that is outside of yours, only to have a substantial amount of people refuse to understand your logic, tag along with a trending topic & play with your character and do everything they can to take money out of your pockets and food out your kids mouth, and have everybody around you panicking only for you to apologize anyway stand on the fact that you were entertaining and truly didn’t mean to offend anybody or start no commotion, although they’re currently offending you, & COINCIDENTALLY the video you were shooting till 4am the DAY OF @rollingloud touches on EVERY controversial topic trending in the headlines, so you then go against the grain in the opposite direction of every scared person around you & stay true to yourself & DROP DAT BITCH in the height of the commotion & show the world once again that you CANT BE FUCKED WIT?
