Christian Rapper NF Beats Out Chance the Rapper for Number One Album in the Country

A big debut for Chance’s debut.

Christian rapper NF has the number one album in the country for the week ending August 1st. His new album, The Search, debuted you with 130,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. It is the second number two from NF.

Right behind him is Chance the Rapper with his official debut, The Big Day. The album — which is Chance’s highest charting project — debuted with 108,000 units earned. Eighty thousand of those streams came via streaming, making his album the most streamed of the week.

One thing to consider: Chance’s album was not released on midnight on Friday. The album dropped early afternoon. That window could have affected the charts.
