Chance The Rapper Drops Four New Songs, Announces He's the New Owner of the Chicagoist

It's not an album but it's something

Chance the Rapper dropped four new songs on his Soundcloud on Wednesday night (July 18th.) This comes days after he hinted that he would drop a new album this week, only to later reveal that it wasn't true.

The four songs Chance released were: "I Might Need Security," "Work Out," Wala Cam," and "65th & Ingleside." Only one of those songs, "Wala Cam," has a feature on it (Supa Bwe & Forever Band.)

Chance seems to have a lot to say on these songs, dropping lines about a range of topics (he sends some strong shots at Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.)

The most interesting thing he revealed is that he bought the Chicagoist publication. On I Might Need Security Chance rapped:

I bought the Chicagoist just to run you racist bitches outta business.

The Gothamist confirmed the sale, writing that Chances Social Media LLC purchased the website from WNYC earlier this year.

Chance told the Gothamist said:

Im extremely excited to be continuing the work of the Chicagoist, an integral local platform for Chicago news, events and entertainment. WNYCs commitment to finding homes for the -ist brands, including Chicagoist, was an essential part of continuing the legacy and integrity of the site. I look forward to re-launching it and bringing the people of Chicago an independent media outlet focused on amplifying diverse voices and content.
