Cardi B Passes Beyoncé To Become First Woman With 5 Top 10 Hits At The Same Damn Time
The Bronx beauty Cardi B also ties Drake and Kendrick Lamar with a stake in half of the chart’s top 10 records.
Cardi B is out of here as a chart-topping superstar. The Dominican MC has become the third act — and first woman — with five of the top 10 hits on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in a single week. She places five in the top 10 of the list dated Jan. 20.
In addition to surpassing the Queen of Pop, Beyoncé, of which she was previous tied with with four, Cardi B ties Drake and Kendrick Lamar for the most concurrent top 10s.
Drake has done it eight times (all in 2016) and Lamar has done it once in 2017.
Amongst it all, Cardi B is the only artist to achieve the feat with her first five chart entries.
“Finesse (Remix)” starts the list as the song with Bruno Mars gives her her second no. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, after “Bodak Yellow) amassed a six-week stint in September-October 2017. The tune powers 5-1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart and clocks a 189 burst to 87,000 downloads in the week ending Jan. 11.
“Finesse” also debuts atop R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs, pulling 38.3 million U.S. plays, and darts 31-20 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay with 11 million in radio audience, a 62 percent uptick for the week ending Jan. 14. Cardi B also ranks top 10 thanks to G-Eazy’s “No Limit,” Migos’ “Motorsport,” which also features Nicki Minaj, her own “Bartier Cardi,” and “Bodak Yellow”.
Congratulation as Cardi B makes history look so effortless.
