The Roots MC is plotting yet another joint project.

Just weeks after delivering the latest volume of his Streams of Thought album series, Black Thought is already prepping his next round(s) of releases.

In an interview with the Ebro In The Morningcrew, the Roots frontman offered an update on the band's next album (though he was reluctant to offer even a tentative release date,) attributing the delay to the group's notoriously extensive deliberations over album releases.

But he's not holding out for the group's next outing to continue the torrent of productivity. Thought went on to confirm there would be new installments of Streams of Thought ahead, but also revealed a new collaborative album with Danger Mouse is in the works. Aptly titled, Dangerous Thoughts, the project will be a standalone piece, breaking off from Streams of Thought, but likely arriving between volumes of the current series. "It's a feel good record. It's a record for people who got into hip-hop and who evolved at the same period of time that we did," Thought says of the album.

Danger Mouse has been on a bit of hiatus from hip-hop as of late. His last project, Lux Prima, was a collaborative album with Karen O in 2019, and his credits have been overwhelmingly in the alt-rock field over the last decade or so, producing projects for The Black Keys, Michael Kiwanuka, and U2. He also contributed to releases from A$AP Rocky, Adele, and Run The Jewels, as a featured player, but hasn't taken the helm of a full project with a rapper since linking with MF DOOM for the Danger Doom collaboration in 2005.
