UPDATE: According to The New York Times, Black Rob's cause of death was determined to be cardiac arrest. However, Mark Curry explained the rapper had been suffering from a range of medical issues, including kidney failure, lupus, diabetes, and multiple strokes.

Just days after fans learned Black Rob was undergoing treatment for undisclosed ailments, the former Bad Boy Records rapper has reportedly died. He was 52-years-old.

Fellow Bad Boy alum, Mark Curry, announced the rapper's passing in an emotional video on Instagram Saturday afternoon (see below.) "I dont't know where to begin this, but I thank everyone for the donations. Rob passed away about an hour ago," Curry said as he fought off tears. Six days prior, Curry helped get the word out about the rapper's condition when a video of a bedridden Black Rob began to circulate on social media, stirring as much concern as well-wishing from Rob's fans.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched to aid the rapper and his family. The campaign, sadly, fell short of its $50,000 goal. In the days after Rob's troubling health condition went public, the East Harlem rapper was discharged from the hospital, but claimed to have suffered four strokes in the last five years in a video shared on Sunday. Rob also claimed to be facing houselessness at the time the video was recorded. Earlier this week, DJ Self, who shared the video of Rob in the hospital, suggested the rapper had been battling kidney failure for some time.
