We’ll be the first to admit that this week was dragging along slowly, but thankfully there were countless videos like Gallant’s “Dynamite” that provided some respite for us. The visual took on an apocalyptic theme and featured an appearance by the “Vocal Bible” AKA Brandy. Given the fact that Gallant is an indie artist now, we’re thoroughly pleased that he’s unleashing thoughtful creative projects like the “Dynamite” visual (he wrote the treatment for it).
Silk Sonic which is comprised of Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars also surprise dropped a video for their newest single, “Skate.” The D-Mile produced track is a smooth, ’70s-inspired deep cut, in the clip the duo is seen enjoying a jam session with a small crew of friends who are, you guessed it: skating.
Additional contenders that made the cut for best videos of the week include Silk Sonic, Isaiah Rashad, Masego, Toosii, 42 Dugg, Skepta and more.
Last but certainly not least, we wanted to give a shout-out to Skepta who unveiled his newest EP today: All In. At midnight he also dropped a cinematic clip for his single “Nirvana” directed by KLVDR featuring J Balvin. In it, he plays the role of a butler who’s being seduced in a mansion only to end up nearly dying for his fatal attraction to his boss. The five-track EP includes features from Kid Cudi and Teezee.
