Arrest in the Tupac Shakur Murder Case is Not Imminent, Police Say

An arrest in Tupac's murder case will not be made after all.

Las Vegas police are refuting reports that they will be making an arrest in connection to the murder of Tupac Shakur.

KTNV, citing a source, reported Thursday that an arrest was “imminent." The renewed activity in the case comes from a confession in a new Netflix documentary from rapper Keffe D who claimed to know the identity of Shakur's shooter, but refuses to reveal it due to “street code.”

A reporter with FOX5 in Vegas tweeted Wednesday that the police released a statement saying, “Various reports that an arrest warrant is about to be submitted are inaccurate. This case still remains an open homicide case.”

Shakur was killed after a drive-by shooting on September 7, 1996 in Las Vegas. He died in a local hospital days later.

No arrests have been made in the murder case and the investigation has continued on for years.
