Are We Finally Going to Hear Freddie Gibbs and Madlib's 'Piñata' Follow-Up in 2019?

The arrival of Bandana may be imminent.

It's been a long while since we've seen or heard any murmurs of the long-promised follow-up to Freddie Gibbs and Madlib's collaborative album, Piñata.

The 2014 album will hit its fifth rotation round the sun in April of this year. But if a clip posted to Quasimoto's Instagram page is any indication, we might finally see the sequel in 2019. Illustrated by Stones Throw's Jeff Jank, the 15-second morsel finds Lord Quas on the back of a zebra, staring out onto a vivid sunset over the horizon, as Madlib's flip of a dazzling Italian library cut plays over the majestic scenery. Gibbs co-signed the clip with a re-post stating "Zebra mode activated."

It's promising, no doubt, as the clip remains the only inclination that something may finally be on the way from the dynamic duo. Sadly, we'll have to wait a bit longer before we get any real answers on the tentatively-titled Bandana project.

Watch and rewatch the vivid teaser above and hold tight for their next transmission. You won't want to miss it.
