Anderson .Paak was joined by soul legend Smokey Robinson on the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Backed by .Paak’s The Free Nationals and a four-piece string section, the duo performed their Ventura collaboration, “Make It Better” as the musical guests on the late-night program.
For .Paak, the performance arrives on the heels of his Live Lounge session for BBC 1, in which he set Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” to the tune of Erykah Badu’s “Window Seat.” He also made recent appearances on projects from Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, YBN Cordae, and Flying Lotus. And for Robinson, it’s a victory lap, celebrating Motown’s 60th-anniversary and the release of the Hitsville documentary on Showtime.
