Carroll brings the jazz to slow-burning r&b with this cool and confident new cut
Ahead of a short run of fall tour dates, jazz bassist Aidan Carroll is signaling a sonic pivot.
Today, he’s shared the new track “Priority,” featuring contributions from vocalist Melissa McMillan. Opting for bubbly electric low-ends and bright, sunny synth beds over his Original Version organix, Carroll crafts a sleek, slow-churning r&b number; modern, but with a touch of Stevie’s “Rocket Love” for altitude. A perfect pre-cuffing season warm-up.
