Adanna Duru Wants To Put Her “Fingertips” On You In New Video
This rising Southern California singer-songwriter is oozing with rich appeal and #BlackGirlMagic on her lead single, “Fingertips,” from the album, Stardive.
Looking to double down on the successes of her debut project, Exhibit A and its lead single, “Seal It With A Kiss” — Adanna Duru returns with a brand new single / video titled “Fingertips”. Backed by an 80’s inspired synth-heavy bassline, crackling drums and a true school R&B / soul flavoring — “Fingertips” is quite the song to play on repeat for first-time listeners getting acquainted with this Southern California talent.
If Adanna looks familiar to you eagle-eyed audiophiles, it is because you have probably seen her on Adam Levine’s team on NBC’s The Voice in 2012. Commanding, courageous and a strong contender for ‘New Voice of 2017,’ Adanna’s “Fingertips” features the raps of fast-rising Houston rapper, John Ibe.
Visually stunning and inspired by “That’s The Way Love Goes” by Janet Jackson — this Amaka Ofomata + Tarek M directed effort allows Adanna to open up more to her audiences in a honest and vulnerable way. “I wrote the song about the simplicity and innocence of a delicate kiss. It stemmed from my love for the feeling of having my face held when I am kissed by a man I really care about,” she said in a released statement. “I started off writing ‘Fingertips’ about a kiss but it quickly morphed into a song about my appreciation for two people who truly admire, respect, cherish and are committed to each other.”
With rave reviews coming from some reputable places in the music world, we are excited to hear more from Adanna Daru, as she gets ready to release her debut EP, Stardive, on Aug. 18.
