Metro Boomin pays tribute to Takeoff on his new album Heroes Vs. Villains. The late Migos and Unc & Phew member is posthumously featured on fourteenth track “Feel the Fiyaaaah” alongside A$AP Rocky.
On the song, Takeoff flexes his alphabetical wordplay, rapping “We the one they wanna be (Be) / Like the letter after A (Ayy) / I bought my bitch a new C (Chanel) / Then I took her to the D (Let’s go) / Said she wanna take a E (Okay) / Don’t go nowhere without my F&N (Brrt) / No Givenchy, I’m a G (G) / They don’t want smoke or the heat (Ha).”
After Take’s passing on November 1, Metro Boomin posted a letter about Takeoff, calling the late rapper his “brother.”
“Anytime I seen bro we would dap and hug and he would always look me in the eye and say ” I love you my brudda” and not just when we would part ways,” Boomin wrote. “I can’t even really put into words how bright and warming of a genuine soul he was. Music brought us together 10 years ago but played a small role in our friendship and brotherhood overall.”
The star-studded Heroes & Villains features a full lineup of rap and R&B guests, including The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Gunna, Young Thug, John Legend, Future and more.
The album rollout also boasts an epic short film starring Boomin, Morgan Freeman, Gunna, Young Thug and others.
