A New Poster Teases What Could Be Upcoming Music From Frank Ocean

A message on the backside of recent Frank Ocean posters seems to hint towards upcoming music from the artist.

Read 'em and weep. It appears that Frank Ocean is getting closer to releasing new music, nearly seven years after his sophomore album Blonde and visual album Endless. On a new round of posters from his website, the new Coachella co-headliner has seemingly revealed forthcoming material in a story about a "Recording Artist" which is presumed to be Ocean.

“In the summer of 2019, Blonded produced a photo series shot on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019 by photographer Michael Marcelle. The photo series follows the story of a fictitious Recording Artist as he navigates the radio system," the story reads.

It goes on to share that the "Recording Artist" preferred singles to LPs, as he “believes the latter to be outdated, and that releasing singles is more suited to modern consumption habits where people curate their own playlists, which are then shared within private circles.” It ends with the individual having a change of heart: “The Recording Artist has since changed his mind about the singles model and is again interested in more durational bodies of work.”

The message could possibly be translated to mean a new project from Ocean or another set of singles, as he's released fan favorites "Chanel," "Biking," "Moon River," "DHL," "In My Room" and more over the past few years. In 2016, Blonde debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 276,000 album-equivalent units sold.

While Ocean has not confirmed or denied the rumors of new music, he last spoke about being in the recording studio during the “blonded Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds” episode of Apple Music's Blonded Radio. The episode premiered last July, where the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter was in conversation with psychologist and writer Dr. James Fadiman.
