Early this morning, the ATLien rapper, producer and singer delivered a smooth and effortless cover of Erykah Badu‘s classic “On & On” for triple j’s Like A Version. Donning a vintage Sade tee, 6LACK was accompanied by a scaled-back crew of just keys and drums, but it’s all that was needed to bring the analog girl a properly organic salute. Following the performance, Badu herself dialed him up for a debriefing as to why he chose the song. He explained that Badu was performing when he received the call that his daughter was born. He named her Six.
