Jackie Chan Announces 'Rush Hour 4' Will Happen...But Only if Chris Tucker Agrees to Return

This July was the ten year anniversary of Rush Hour 3, the last installment in the classic comedy movie franchise.

And when you consider star Chris Tucker's sporadic output — he's only been in two movies since Rush Hour 3 — it was safe to assume that that was the last movie in the series.

Not so fast.

On Thursday, Jackie Chan appeared on Power 106's The Cruz Show to promote his new movie The Foreigner. Naturally, during the discussion, the topic of Rush Hour 4 came up. And Chan gave a surprising answer. He says that the sequel is happening, and they just sealed the deal this week:

"[It's coming] next year. For the last seven years we've been turning down the script, turning down the script. Yesterday, we just agreed."

However, there is a caveat. Jackie Chan's partner in crime, Chris Tucker, has to 100 percent be on board with the sequel.

"Next year [we'll] probably start—IF Chris Tucker agrees. It's not about money! It's about [having] time to make. Otherwise, Rush Hour 4, we're all old men. I tell Chris Tucker, ‘Before we get old, please do Rush Hour 4.'"

Chan is right; we need Tucker. Because Rush Hour wouldn't be the same with Kevin Hart, or whatever. Watch the full interview below. The Rush Hour comments start at about the 2-minute mark.
