It’s Official: Robert Pattinson Will Be the Next Batman

Robert Pattinson will be the next person to put on the cape and mask.

Warner Bros. has confirmed that Twilight actor Robert Pattinson will be the next Batman. The studio made the announcement on Friday, May 31st.

Pattinson will star in The Batman, Warner Bros.’ lattest attempt at redoing tthe iconic comic book. (This comes after Ben Affleck’s disastrous two-movie run: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.)

The Batman will be anchored by Matt Reeves, who is best known for directing two of the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes movies. When it was first rumored that Pattison would be playing Batman, there were some mixed reactions.

But, as actor Jimmy Wong pointed out, these decisions tend to be polarizing.

The Batman is expected to hit theaters on June 25, 2021. Preproduction is set to begin this summer.
