Chris Rock hasn’t dropped a stand up special in ten years, since Kill the Messenger was released in 2008.
That’s about to change. Chris Rock’s Netflix special Tamborine is releasing tonight, February 13th, at midnight PST. Tamborine is the first of two specials Rock is doing with Netflix. (The tech giant infamously paid around $40 million for the two specials.)
Rock announced the release date of his new special on his socials. This follows the release of mysterious teaser Netflix put out at the beginning of the month, which only featured a tambourine.

Tamborine was directed by Bo Burnham and filmed at New York’s Brooklyn Academy of Music. Expect Rock to handle a lot of the topical issues of the time. (AKA, expect a lot of Trump stuff.)
