Saturday Night Live announced the lineup for their fall slew of shows. There's a lot of big names coming up, but the biggest is Eddie Murphy: the iconic comedian will host Saturday Night Live for the first time in over 30 years.

The last time Eddie Murphy hosted SNL was in 1984. The comedian had just left Saturday Night Live a couple of months prior. And he returned to host in support of Beverly Hills Cop.

Before that, Murphy hosted while still a member of the staff, after Nick Nolte, his costar in 48 Hours, got sick. It has not been announced who will be the musical guest for Murphy's return.

Last month, it was reported that Eddie Murphy was in talks with Netflix to produce his first standup special in decades. According to reports, Murphy’s team has been negotiating with Netflix with a deal that would be north of $70 million.
