WFAA Anchor Alisha Laventure Epically Calls Out Trump For “Sh--hole” Comment
Alisha Laventure defended her Haitian heritage and called out President Donald Trump during her Friday, Jan. 12, 4:00 p.m. newscast.
WFAA anchor Alisha Laventure joined the many people insulted by Donald Trump and decided to call the president what he truly is. Not folding under pressure, Laventure schools Trump on respect, dignity and the courage of immigrants coming to America. Her parents immigrated to the U.S. when they were only children and had to overcome the language barrier to succeed.
As Alisha recounted her parents’ story, she also dropped truth bombs about the vulgarity and lack of decorum Trump displayed in disrespecting countries of colors. “Why should we accept any less from the President of the United States of America?” Alisha said, commenting that Trump should be held to the same standards as anyone else who exhibits such behavior. “A country, by the way, that’s played a hand in the poverty Haiti and other nations face today. We have a right and responsibility to hold the president to a higher standard. His rhetoric falls far from it. If my job is to report the truth, the truth is, what the president said was hurtful. It was mean. And to be blunt — it was racist.”
“Putting America first shouldn’t mean bashing people of other nations trying to achieve the American dream. A little respect goes a long way.”
