'Vice City' Turns Out to Be An Upcoming 50 Cent Show

Paramount+ is developing new Lionsgate Television series Vice City, from 50 Cent and G-Unit Film & Television.

The news is out: 50 Cent will officially be developing a new series under the working title Vice City. On Thursday (March 9), Deadline reported the news that Vice City will be developed by Paramount+ via Paramount Studios, Lionsgate Television, and 50 Cent's G-Unit Film & Television.

Here's the synopsis: Vice City (wt) follows three friends, and former soldiers, who return to their home city of Miami in the mid-80s after being dishonorably discharged from the military for their involvement in the Iran Contra scandal. Disgraced, displaced, and forgotten by the country they served and with no good job prospects, the three friends partner with a mysterious Colombian immigrant, uniting their financial needs and criminal ambitions to form a heist crew. Fueled by the need for American green, they traverse a violent and dangerous path in pursuit of the American Dream.

Earlier this month, the rapper, legal name Curtis Jackson, teased Vice City on Instagram. “I will explain this later, GLG,” he captioned his post. “Green Light gang. This s**t is bigger than ‘Power,’ trust me. Boom.”

In the last decade, Jackson had accrued success as executive producer of STARZ’s “Power Universe:” PowerPower Book II: GhostPower Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force. Jackson also serves at executive producer of BMF, along with WeTV series Hip Hop Homicides. Last month, FOX announced that Jackson had signed on for a non-exclusive broadcast deal, where he’ll “develop scripted dramas, live-action comedies, and animated series” in partnership with his G-Unit Film & Television production company.
