"They are the true Racists, and are very bad for our Country!"

Yesterday morning, President Trump buried a jab at Hollywood in a barrage of barely-comprehendible tweets that addressed everything from the "failing [New York Times]" to "a small apology" from Kim Jung Un for testing short-range missiles last month.

Seemingly unprovoked, Trump fired off at "Liberal Hollywood," charging the film industry of being "racist at the highest level." In a subsequent tweet, Trump added that "[Hollywood] creates their own violence, and then try to blame others," capping off the thumb rant with "They are the true Racists, and are very bad for our Country!"

The remarks followed a press briefing at the White House earlier that morning, during which Trump claimed to be fielding meetings with "the heads of the biggest companies" to blast them for "treat[ing] conservatives and Republicans totally different than they treat others." Never really got to the whole "why Hollywood is racist" part, though.

My bet's on the fact that many of Hollywood's biggest movers (Disney's Robert Iger, Netflix's Reed Hastings, Comcast's Brian Roberts) were vocal Clinton supporters in 2016 and, well, we know the guy can hold a grudge with the best of em. Some outlets have speculated that Trump's comments were sparked by a trailer for the upcoming film, The Hunt, in which big-money Southern elites with conservative ties literally hunt the poor for sport.

Meanwhile, not a thing has been done to ramp up background checks for prospective gun buyers since the Dayton and El Paso shootings last Saturday.
