Recently announcing his departure from The Daily Show, host and comic Trevor Noah has set his finale for Thursday, December 8.

Less than two months remain until Trevor Noahexits The Daily Show. On Thursday (October 13), it was announced that the South African comic will conclude his hosting duties of the Comedy Central talk show on Thursday, December 8. Noah hosted the show for seven years after former host and comedian Jon Stewart left in 2015.

In late-September, Noah announced his departure, although at the time he didn't mention the date of his final episode.

“It’s been absolutely amazing. It’s something that I never expected,” Noah said. “I found myself thinking throughout the time of everything we’ve gone through. The Trump presidency, the pandemic, just the journey, more pandemic and I realize that after the seven years, my time is up.”

He continued, "But in the most in the most beautiful way. Honestly. I’ve loved hosting the show. It’s been one of my greatest challenges. It’s been one of my greatest joys. I have loved trying to figure out how to make people laugh, even when the stories are particularly s***** on the worst days. You know, we’ve laughed together, we’ve cried together. But, after seven years, I feel like it’s time."

Although a successor has not yet been mentioned, Noah's trusted correspondents are Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Desi Lydic, Dulcé Sloan and Roy Wood Jr, who are possibly in the running to fill Noah's shoes. Comedy Central will put The Daily Show on hiatus until January 17, returning with a "reinvention" per Variety.
