The Kanye and Pete Davidson Saga Took Another Chaotic Turn

Private text messages between Kanye and the comedian went public on Sunday.

Tensions are high as ever between Kanye West, Pete Davidson, and presumably, their respective camps.

Over the weekend, the feud, which has been at least visually represented by a pair of recent videos for West and The Game’s new single “Easy,” once again escalated with the publishing of texts between Davidson and the rapper.

Captioned as “A message from Pete” by the comedian’s writing partner, David Sirus (who has since set his account to private,) screenshots of Davidson and West’s messages were shared in an Instagram post. In the exchange, Davidson, who is currently saddled up with post-divorce Kim Kardashian, defends West’s ex and demands respect for her new relationship. “Yo it’s Skete. Can you please take a second and calm down. It’s 8am and it don’t gotta be like this. Kim is literally the best mother I’ve ever met. What she does for those kids is amazing and you are so [fucking] lucky that she’s your kids mom,” Davidson writes. The comedian goes on to tell West to “grow the fuck up” and later responds to the rapper with a shirtless selfie claiming to be in bed with Kardashian. At one point, Davidson’s tone flips from confrontational to compassionate, offering to meet with West in-person to resolve their issues and help him address his mental health battles. “I struggle with mental stuff too. It’s not an easy journey. You don’t have to feel this way anymore. There’s no shame in having a little help,” Davidson wrote, going to claim he’d prevented Saturday Night Live and stand-up comedians from cutting jokes at the rapper’s expense.

It seems the texts were shared in response to West’s own attempt at sowing some chaos into a Sunday morning. Earlier in the day, West railed against Davidson and Kardashian in an Instagram live video, in which he referred to the comedian’s texts. “At this point it’s going too far. God, please. The boyfriend texts me, antagonizing me, bragging about being in bed with my wife,” West says in the video. “I’m like, ‘Well, who’s watching my children if he’s texting me, bragging about being in bed with my wife?’,” West continues. The clip closes with a prayer West claims was inspired by advice he got from Tory Lanez, in which he asks the nannies of his children to bring them to his Sunday Service performance. After the messages from Davidson went public, West posted a screenshot (since deleted,) of DMs between himself and an undisclosed person who shared the address (blurred for socials,) of Sirus, which can be taken as either low-grade doxing or a pretty direct threat.

Either way, it’s hard to imagine this gets cleaned up any time soon. And it appears to have the potential to get a lot darker before there’s any real resolution.
