The Far Rockaway, Queens native got his start in the 1970s, spraypainting the A train. In the 1980s, he branched out artistically, painting on traditional canvases and repurposing waste. He appeared in Charlie Ahearn’s 1983 cult classic film Wild Style. Additionally, he wrote a 10-minute rap single, produced by Jean-Michel Basquiat. In addition to music, he wrote an opera and made forays into comic books and board games.
By the following decade, Rammellzee had moved even deeper into his new medium. He repurposed trash for the creation of one of his largest projects: the Garbage Gods. After his death in 2010 at the age of 49, universities and museums began to celebrate his life and works.

The Rammellzee Supreme collection also features at least two collaborations with GORE-TEX.
