Supreme to Produce a Collection Inspired By Graffiti Legend Rammellzee

The collection includes sweats, shirts, caps, and messenger bags.

Fresh off the release of their infamous Oreo collaboration, Supreme has announced its latest collection. New York graffiti legend Rammellzee inspired the brand's latest package. The collection hits stores starting on March 19, with select pieces only available online. Take a look at some of the pieces below.

The Far Rockaway, Queens native got his start in the 1970s, spraypainting the A train. In the 1980s, he branched out artistically, painting on traditional canvases and repurposing waste. He appeared in Charlie Ahearn's 1983 cult classic film WildStyle. Additionally, he wrote a 10-minute rap single, produced by Jean-Michel Basquiat. In addition to music, he wrote an opera and made forays into comic books and board games.

By the following decade, Rammellzee had moved even deeper into his new medium. He repurposed trash for the creation of one of his largest projects: the Garbage Gods. After his death in 2010 at the age of 49, universities and museums began to celebrate his life and works.

In 2018, Red Bull New York released a documentary on the artist in collaboration with Oscar Boyson and Elara Pictures. The film, RAMMELLZEE: It's Not Who But What, features archival footage of the artist, as well as an explanation of his Gothic Futurism philosophy.

The Rammellzee Supreme collection also features at least two collaborations with GORE-TEX.
