Watch Three Generations of Black Detectives Unite in the First ‘Shaft’ Trailer

You’re damn right.

It’s been 19 years since we’ve seen the iconic John Shaft character on the big screen. That will change this summer.

On June 14th Shaft, the fifth movie in the iconic franchise, will hit the big screen. The movie was directed by Tim Story and will star Richard Roundtree as Shaft number one, Samuel L. Jackson as Shaft number two, and Jessie Usher as Shaft number three — the latest black private detective in the family.

The first trailer for the movie dropped on Wednesday (February 6th) during an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! In the trailer we see Usher needing the help of his legendary father and grandfather to solve a murder mystery.

The movie also stars Regina Hall, Alexandra Shipp, and Method Man. Check out the first trailer below.
