AJ and the Queen finds RuPaul playing Ruby Red, a “bigger-than-life but down-on-her-luck” drag queen who travels across America with her 11-year-old sidekick AJ in a beat up R/V. In this road trip comedy, Ruby changes people’s lives along the way and offers up a live musical performance in the drag clubs she visits in each new city.
RuPaul will also write the hour-long episodes.
There’s no word on a release date just yet, but expect this one to be on countless people’s watch queues when it does.
