"The Box" is officially Roddy's first Billboard number one entry.

2019 was a huge year for Roddy Ricch, and by the looks of things, 2020 will be even bigger. On Monday, his single "The Box" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, moving up two spots from its previous position.

Over the weekend, Justin Bieber came under fire for his efforts to snatch the top spot away from his younger counterpart. On his official Instagram account, Bieber asked his fans to stream his new single, "Yummy." The track debuted at No. 2. Streaming campaigns are normal for pop stars, but Bieber took things a step further, by asking fans outside the United States to use Virtual Private Networks to boost stateside streaming numbers. Additionally, he suggested fans stream the song while sleeping.

Once Twitter users noticed Bieber's apparent concern, it only increased public support for "The Box." In the week ending January 9, streams of "The Box" went up 79%. The song has been on the charts ever since it was released on Roddy's debut album, Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial.

Roddy previously got close to the Billboard top spot on DJ Mustard's "Ballin."

The track peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Top 100. Additionally, the track earned a nomination for Best Rap/Sung Performance at the 2020 Grammy Awards. Roddy earned two more nominations (Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance) for his feature on Nipsey Hussle's "Racks in the Middle."

Roddy Ricch's Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial is available on all major streaming platforms.
