Adult Swim Releases ‘Rick and Morty’ Season Trailer, Announces Return Date

The new season returns to Adult Swim on May 3.

Rick and Morty fans got some good news on Wednesday morning. The award-winning animated Adult Swim series announced its return for the second half of its fourth season. Additionally, creators released a trailer previewing all the interdimensional madness to come. Watch the full trailer above.

The first half of the season–five episodes–began back in November. The latest season featured cameos from names like Sherri Shepherd, Keegan-Michael Key, Elon Musk, and Taika Waititi. Set your calendars for 11:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on May 3rd.

The show took home the Best Animated Show honors at the 2018 Primetime Emmy Awards. The same year, it won the same award at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards. A few days ago, showrunners teased the upcoming season with a short homage to Japanese films and mangas. Additionally, Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland is readying a new animated series, Solar Opposites, on Hulu. The new show arrives on May 8th.

The new season comes significantly sooner than previous installments have. Two whole years passed between the second and third seasons, as well as between season three and the first half of season four. This time around, only five months separate the respective season premieres.
