After years of fielding complaints over the lack of melanin in a leading (or even supporting) James Bond role, Hollywood appears to have finally heeded the call.

According to reports from The Independentand Metro, a rewrite of the upcoming Bond 25 film casts Captain Marvel's Lashana Lynch as the first ever black and female suited spy. The film is directed by Cary Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation, Maniac, and season 1 of True Detective,) and is slated to see the return of Daniel Craig as a retired Bond and Christoph Waltz reprising his role as Blofeld, along with Rami Malek as the main bad guy.

Still in production, the film has yet to receive an official title, but it is presumed to be named Shatterhand, after an alias used by Blofeld in the Ian Fleming novel, You Only Live Twice.

Bond 25 is set to hit theaters on April 8th, 2020. Hold tight for updates in the weeks and months ahead.
