Rachel Dolezal is Trying to Profit Off of the Racist H&M Scandal

The infamous, racially ambiguous Rachel Dolezal has returned to the news cycle yet again. On Tuesday, she posted her response to the racist H&M, which featured a black child wearing a hoodie with the words “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle” on it.

Dolezal’s response was really an ad: she was promoting and selling her own green “protest” hoodie featuring the words “Coolest Prince in the Hood.”

Dolezal said she made the hoodie because her son had been called monkey in the past “and none of the (white) teachers or school administration understood why he was offended.”

Soon after she put the hoodie up, commentators went after her, partially, because she was trying to use a scandal to sell some hoodies.

Soon after, she deleted the post and put up a new one, changing the words to “Coolest Prince in the World.”

In the post she wrote:

“So, I did a first design in response to H&M’s ‘Coolest Monkey in the Jungle’ shirt that said “Coolest Prince in the Hood,” because it’s a hooded sweatshirt/neighborhood, etc. Some people liked it, some didn’t like the word “hood.” I called production and asked them to change it to ‘Coolest Prince in the World.'”

The hoodies are being sold on her site Rachel Dolezal.com. On the site, she says proceeds will “go directly to providing for the 3 coolest princes in my household (my 3 Black sons).”
