On Wednesday, NPR released the latest episode of the Tiny Desk (Home) Concert Series. This time around was a special occasion, as a celebration of the new Def Jam Africa compilation Rhythms of Zamunda: Music Inspired by Coming 2 America. Nasty C of South Africa teams up with Ari Lennox for “Black and White,” then Locko of Cameroon performs “Magnet.” Rising South African R&B star Ricky Tyler follows up with “Everything,” before Nigerian artist Alpha P blesses the audience with his single “Jiggy Bop.” The setlist closes out with South African DJ/producer Prince Kaybee and Msaki’s “Fetch Your Life” and Togolese duo Toofan’s “Yé Mama.”
Coming 2 America hit the Amazon Prime Video lineup on March 5. The film’s American soundtrack features appearances from Meg thee Stallion, John Legend, Burna Boy, and more.
