New ‘Mudbound’ Trailer Transports Cinephiles To WWII-Era South
The insanely popular picture directed by Dee Rees (Pariah) premieres a new trailer before heading to the Toronto International Film Festival.
The buzz has been deafening for the Dee Rees directed picture, Mudbound, as the hype has proven to be real. After getting snatched up in a nanosecond by Netflix, Mudbound is building upon its forthcoming Toronto International Film Festival premiere by sharing a new trailer, highlighting more of the project’s story.
For those unaware, Jason Mitchell, Mary J. Blige, Garrett Hedlund, Jason Clarke and Carey Mulligan star in this film set in the rural American South during World War II. An epic story (judging by the praise Mary J. Blige has received) of two families pitted against one another by society’s hierarchy, Mudbound follows the McAllan family and the Jacksons who brave the harsh demands of farming and the rigidly enforced social barriers they face.
A lot happens… and it is totally worth watching a few times.
Watch the new Mudbound trailer and look out for the project to launch on Netflix and in select theaters on Nov. 17.
