Netflix Drops the Trailer for 'Redeem Team', the New Doc About the 2008 US Mens Olympic Team

Netflix has dropped their official trailer for forthcoming basketball documentary The Redeem Team, produced by LeBron James and Dwayne Wade.

In less than one month, The Redeem Team is coming to Netflix. On Tuesday (September 13), the official trailer for the LeBron James and Dwayne Wade-produced sports documentary arrived to social media, with footage of NBA players Chris Bosh, Carmelo Anthony, Jason Kidd, the late Kobe Bryant and more playing at the 2008 U.S. Olympics.

The 2008 squad was given the title 'Redeem Team' after winning gold in Beijing, four years after the previous U.S. basketball team floundered at the Olympics with a bronze medal. Including never-before-seen footage of the 2008 competition, the film will also feature new interviews with athletes and coaches that participated at the Olympics.

The Redeem Team represents the very best of what the Olympics are all about,” said Olympic Channel Services GM, Mark Parkman per Deadline. “This film will bring viewers directly inside that team and the Olympic Games Beijing 2008 by showcasing the personality and dynamics of a special group of superstars who came together as one to reclaim basketball supremacy on the biggest stage in sports.”

“In 2008, I played with heroes of mine, all stars, friends and future teammates. Outside of winning and showing the world that we were still the most dominant, our other big challenge was changing the perception of what everyone thought about the NBA and USA Basketball!” added Wade. “I’m excited for everyone to get an opportunity to go behind the scenes and see all the work that went into this iconic team.”

The Netflix-exclusive documentary releases on October 7.
