MCU’s Phase 6 Might Be the Best Yet, with ‘Fantastic Four’ & Two New ‘Avengers’ Movies

After announcing the completion of Phase 4 and outline of Phase 5, Marvel Studios has teased the “Multiverse saga” that will mark Phase 6.

Marvel Studios is giving fans a sneak peek into Phase 6 of the MCU. After announcing that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and She-Hulk will complete Phase 4 this year, company president Kevin Feige gave the timeline of Phase 5 including films Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3The Marvels and Blade along with Disney+ shows Secret InvasionEcho and Ironheart.

Taking it one step further, Feige also introduced a schedule for Phase 6 as part of the “Multiverse saga,” which will begin with Fantastic Four on November 8, 2024, ending with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty on May 2, 2025 and Avengers: Secret Wars just six months later, on November 7, 2025.

Eight more projects will be included in Phase 6, but The Russo Brothers will not be returning to direct the two Avengers films. Feige shared during San Diego Comic-Con that the duo is “not connected to it,” adding, “they’ve been very direct about that.”

“We don’t like taking about the thematics of each phase until after we released everything,” Feige added, not revealing the new director behind the two Avengers films. “Because the truth is all of stories are both interconnected and hopefully stand apart. It’s only now even that we see what the thematics of one, two and three are. We have various ideas as we head into them. But the specifics we like to be uncovered project by project.”

In a recent interview with Deadline, Joe Russo explained the duo’s reason for not directing the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.

“Our love for Marvel is based on the books that we read as kids, the books that we fell in love with,” he said. “The one series that we adored growing up was Secret Wars. It’s incredibly ambitious. It would be bigger than Infinity War and Endgame. But it’s a massive undertaking. Those two movies were very hard to make. So trying to imagine making another two movies even bigger than those two? We’re going to have to sleep on that.”
