Marvel's God of Mischief is a "Fish Out of Water" in 'Loki' Trailer

The new Loki series arrives on Disney Plus on June 11th.

On Monday, Marvel Studios released a trailer for their forthcoming series Loki, focused on the God of Mischief. The series begins after the titular character was apprehended in the events of Avengers: Endgame. The trailer follows the villain as he's in the custody of the Time Variance Authority. "Watch Loki--the imperious God of Mischief," the description reads, "who, after absconding with the Tesseract, is a fish-out-of-water when he lands in a world of trouble with the bureaucratic TVA."

Tom Hiddleston returns as the God of Mischief. Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant also appear. The series is directed by Kate Herron, and Michael Waldron serves as head writer. The spinoff follows Marvel's WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Phase Four of the MCU (the Post-Infinity Saga) is set to begin in a matter of months, when the Black Widow movie will premiere in July 2021. Other forthcoming MCU movie titles for the year 2021 include Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In theseries, Loki is tasked with repairing the timelines fractured by his use of the Tesseract in the Avengers' Infinity Saga. Wilson's character Mobius works for the Time Variance Authority, which oversees the multiverse. Mobius tells Loki that despite his untrustworthiness, he needs "his unique Loki perspective" for the task.
