Lee Daniels and Mo'Nique have mended their differences after a 13-year feud, with Daniels giving the actress a role in a new Netflix thriller.

It looks like 13-year protest from Mo'Nique has paid off. On April Fools' Day, the actress-comedian and director Lee Daniels patching up their differences was anything but a joke. The two attended the Mo’Nique and Friends: April Fools Day with The Queen of Comedy show at the St. George Theatre on Staten Island where Daniels took to the stage and publicly apologized to Mo'Nique.

"I am so sorry for hurting you in any way that I did," Daniels began. "She was my best friend," he continued, addressing the crowd. "My best friend. Y'all think that Precious was just ... that was God working through both of us. And we gonna fucking do it again. I love you. I love you. I love you."

"I love you," she responded.

After the two patched things up on-stage, Mo'Nique went to Instagram to post an image of her and Daniels.

Prior to ending their feud, the two were not speaking for over a decade after the actress-comedian accused Daniels, Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry of blackballing her for refusing to promote 2009 film Precious during awards season. Mo'Nique played Precious' mother Mary Lee Johnston in the film, and won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the role.

Now that she and Daniels have patched things up, Mo'Nique is off to star in upcoming Netflix thriller Demon House, which will be directed by Daniels. According to Deadline, the actress-comedian will be replacing Octavia Spencer in the film, as Spencer had scheduling conflicts with Apple TV+ television show Truth Be Told.
