Laurence Fishburne Will Team Up With Marvel For ‘Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur’ Animated Series
Oh, black girl nerds (and black nerds in general) are going to have a fantastic year when Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur hit the TV screens.
I am personally excited to announce the newest, truest on-screen offering from Marvel, courtesy of black-ish star, Laurence Fishburne. One of my absolute favorite comics, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, is coming to the television world as a brand new animated series.
For those unfamiliar, Moon Girl is based on the adventures of a nine-year-old superhero (and smartest person in the Marvel Universe), Moon Girl, aka Lunella Lafayette. Joined by Devil Dinosaur, these two attempt to save the world using a myriad of inventions and magical abilities (she can swap bodies with her dinosaur friend).
The series is being developed by Disney Channels Worldwide, produced by Laurence Fishburne alongside Helen Sugland via his Cinema Gypsy Productions company, and the show has yet to be determined if whether it will be on The Disney Channel, Disney XD or Disney Junior.
I say it should be on Disney XD, but who am I?
The duo of Fishburne and Sugland already are working together as executive produers on black-ish and grown-ish, so clearly their deal with ABC studios is producing fruitful results.
We will keep you posted as more develops. Until then, check out this complete history of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur below:
