Former King of the Hill writer Brent Forrester hinted at a potential reboot of the show.

Over the last few years, dozens of intellectual properties have been rebooted on television and streaming platforms. Classics like Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Animaniacs, and dozens of other movies have been recently approved for reboots or modern adaptations. On Tuesday Brent Forrester, a former writer on Fox's cult classic King of the Hill, participated in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session and teased the idea of a potential reboot of the show.

According to Forrester, the show's creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels are in "hot negotiations" to bring the show back. At the moment, there is no timetable for the series' official return, or even an official announcement from Daniels or Judge.

"I am sure Greg Daniels and Mike Judge will murder me for sharing this," he wrote, "but HELL YES. they are in hot negotiations to bring back King of the Hill. The Trump administration made it suddenly very relevant again. The characters have all aged 15 years. The project is sooooo good. Okay, I've said too much."

King of the Hill closed in 2010 after 13 seasons. The show has only gotten more popular in its absence.

Judge is also working on a reboot of Beavis and Butt-Head for Comedy Central. In the meantime, catch up on all 13 seasons of the show on Hulu. Daniels is working on the second season of Netflix original series Space Force.
