Kanye West Calls "Black Lives Matter" a "Scam," Targets Vogue Editor on Instagram

After wearing a "White Lives Matter" tee, Kanye West dismissed 'Black Lives Matter' and targeted Vogue contributing editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson.

Kanye West is on another social media warfare. After wearing a black t-shirt with 'White Lives Matter' emblazoned on the back at a YZY fashion show, the Donda 2 rapper-producer sent a message to disappointed critics on his Instagram Story on Tuesday morning (October 4).

“EVERYONE KNOWS BLACK LIVES MATTER WAS A SCAM,” the 45-year-old wrote. “NOW IT’S OVER. YOU’RE WELCOME.”

In support of Ye's message was conservative influencer and author Candace Owens, who matched the artist formerly known as Kanye West.

An artist who left the fashion event was Jaden Smith, who didn't agree with Ye's statement.

The "Hurricane" rapper also went after Vogue contributing editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, for declaring that Ye's 'White Lives Matter' t-shirt was "dangerous" and "irresponsible" in screenshots of a text thread.

Ye then posted an image of Karefa-Johnson, saying that she is "not a fashion person" and that like he shot back at Trevor Noah earlier this year, "You speak on Ye, Ima [sic] speak on you."

Owens hopped in the commentary, accusing Karefa of being a "Diversity and Equity" hire and a "droid."

Ye also fired off Bernard Arnault, the billionaire executive behind LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, claiming that he "killed" Virgil Abloh.

“SPANK MY HAND WITH THE RULER(S) I’LL GO SIT IN THE ‘PRINCIPAL(S)’ OFFICE CAN’T WE TALK ABOUT MORE IMPORTANT THINGS LIKE HOW LATE THE SHOW WAS OR HOW BERNARD ARNAULT KILLED MY BEST FRIEND,” he wrote on Instagram. “EVERYONE’S GOT A RIGHT TO AN OPINION RIGHT THERE’S MINE.”

Ye's revelation on the Black Lives Matter organization follows allegations of members improperly using their funds. In 2020, BLM were blasted on social media for purchasing a $6 million residence in Los Angeles per LA Magazine. Reports of further misappropriated BLM funds have been covered extensively over the past year, including NBC News, who revealed last month that Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation leader Shalomyah Bowers allegedly stole $10 million in donations.
